They shall grow not old
As we who are left grow old
Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning
We Will Remember Them

To the men and women of Australia and New Zealand who fought so gallantly for our countries and who gave of their lives, I humbly Thank you, for today we shall remember you.

And to those veterans who returned with physical and or physiological injuries, we also remember and we honour you.

Lest we forget

Missie well said. Am looking forward going in to the city to watch the march tomorrow. My man marches with the Malay Borneo group.

Sorry folks, I put my note in another thread above. Don't quite know if it can be moved here where it should be. But, have a pleasant day with your loved ones today, and may the sun shine brightly for those there and those missing from the parades.

Love, Brenda

Missie never caught up with you. I walked up King William Road, where you said you would be. I didn't go over to the middle of the road. Lots of people there. Anyway after about 10 minutes I gave up, and walked to the Festival Theatre to see if I could see another girl who was watching her husband march. Would you believe I couldn't find her either. So I picked a good spot, and watched the march which was wonderful!!!!!!! It was a great moment to see my hubby marching, and the rest of the guys from the Malay and Borneo Association. After we had something to eat and drink, and a chat with the others, then we ended up going to our nearest RSL club. A long but happy day.

Hi Jen,

Sorry I missed you we were at bus stop 22 in King William Street, I should have said that in the first place, sorry.

Jen I saw your husband, I even called out he turned his head by I don't think he recognised who was calling.

I thought the day was a bit sombre compared to previous years, something was missing??? what did you think.

Missie I loved the day. Wonder whether it was sombre for you because there were no veterans left to march from World war 1, and many buses had either injured soldiers (females too) or veterans unable to walk. One of our guys was exhausted at the end of the march (he is 75) Next year his son will take him on the march in a wheelchair.

Jen ~ I didn't like the buses you couldn't see the veterans through the tinted windows, I hope next year weather permitting they will put the veterans in open vehicles.

A trip to Gallipoli really brings home the tough battle they had and makes Anzac Day a lot more meaningful - an amzaing experience and a must if you really want to understand what our troops went through.

Happy Anzac Day.
