Just about have my Canada plans sorted out for next year.
Can someone please tell me approximately how long it takes to get from Vancouver to Victoria?? Assume it's a ferry ride?? Are there many of these each day??

Thanks,

Colleen,

You can fly there it takes about 1/2hr from Vancouver and it is a beautiful flight so picturesque. You know I did the ferry ride in May and I can't remember how long it took, as you can see I am a very observant person.

Colleen One hour forty minutes for the ferry ride. Half hour from the ferry terminal to Victoria and a little more from Vancouver to the ferry terminal. There is also some waiting time at the terminal while waiting to board the ferry and for the ferry to leave. Buses are first on and first off.

Thanks Missie and MLT,

My well-laid plans fell apart about an hour ago when I saw that Insight have changed from the Rocky Mountainerr train to another train for the tour I wanted. I just went out for lunch and spoke to someone who has been on this other train (VIA) and the Rocky Mountaineer and said this other train does not compare.

I did have everything well organised. A TT tour of western US and an Insight tour of western Canada - 'Guaranteed' dates for both tours matching nicely at the time I wanted - some days in Vancouver/Victoria at the end -then Insight changed the train for 2007, plus their other Canandian tour that I would take as a substitute takes the Rocky Mountaineer over a different route !!!

I will post a separate topic as I want to ask some questions of our BB Canadians and anyone else who has done these tours.

Thanks for the ferry/flight info.

(shhhhhh Steves not bad either, but don't tell him, 'cause a chook with a big head is an unattractive sight.)

Now to get back to the original topic, if you have 4 days in Sydney, what are the don't miss other than the opera house?
In New Zealand what is the best sound to go to to appreciate the beauty of the south Island?
In Melbourne, what else besides the conservatory?
We will skip Green Island, a little too touristy now.
How is Cooperpeddie (sp) for visiting? Is it worth going to?
