The Dandenongs are a beautfiul place to visit.

I totally agree. As a local who has spent many days in the Dandenongs I would thoroughly recommend the area to visitors. The William Ricketts Sanctuary is beautiful and serene. There are other lovely gardens, bushwalks- complete with tall trees, fern gullies, creeks, fauna and flora and small waterfalls and stunning views of Melbourne. Go for a picnic, Devonshire tea or dine at one of the restaurants. Shop at the galleries. And you are never too old to go for a ride on Puffing Billy Smiler

Hi Feathers,

Bushwalks are just a walk through the bush most commonly on a dirt track. In some very popular areas in some of our National Parks they have paved a few tracks to make them wheelchair accessible.
The walks in the Dandenong Ranges are typically short (take an hour or two, I always just stroll and enjoy the sounds, smells and sights of the bush Smiler). Longer hikes are possible but it’s a day visit area and camping is not allowed.

Hi General Max,
I read your posts on the Insight Board although I have never signed in there. Still traveling, I see.

Same with me Suegreg, I sign in there every now and then, but I don't think I even have 100 posts, but I do read it quite often, so "Hi Max!"
