Hi Gaeley

You have lots to pick from with all kinds of prices.

Have a look at the web site Wotif.com select Sydney & have a look at what's on offer. Most of the accommodation will have a picture & discription of the hotel, location etc. Now the prices have risen over the last 18mths so be prepared for that. Wotiff prices as I am sure you already know are last minute so heavly discounted. I have stayed at quiet of few of the hotels in & around that area, so if you ask I will try & help you. If you want the view you will pay for it, the Novotel Darling Harbour comes to mind. Great views from the harbour view rooms not so great a view from the rooms at the back of the hotel.

What dates in February will you be here????

Cheers
Spooky

Thanks Spooky
I have a niece getting married on the 22nd February, reception at Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour. I have since found the Ibis that doesn't look too bad. An expensive trip for a couple of days but we really would like to go and catch up with family.
Cheers

I have stayed at the Ibis Darling Harbour. It well sited, had good views, clean and well priced. The Monorail is also close by.

Pack what you think you're going to need - then put half of it back in your wardrobe ! ! !

Thanks Karter. I think we will go with the Ibis as is close to where the reception is. We will have four nights so is just a very quick trip but hard to get away from work at that time.

We also stayed at the Ibis when last in Sydney and it was lovely. Close to everything and very comfy with some nice views.

Gaeley,

Whatever you do, don't stay at the Casino at Darling Harbour.
I was put there on a business trip recently and apart from the hotel being little more than a doss-house for gamblers, I picked up a particularly nasty tummy bug that had me sick for over a week.

Not good Colleen Anne2. The last thing you need on a trip, business or pleasure. Sounds like the Ibis will be fine so will see how I go for air fares now.
Thanks for all the answers

I have stayed at the Ibis at Darling Harbour and found it ok and easy to get around from there.

One thing that I did find however is that this hotel seems to have very short beds. I am not very tall so this did not affect me, however my friend who travelled with me is very tall and found that the bed was too short for her. We also found that the toilet was very low.

Regards

I know where you are coming from JDee as I have a very tall son-in-law. Unfortunately when they made me they forgot to stretch me ( I always say I would be tall and slim if that had happened Wink ) Oh well. I guess some of us have to stay closer to the ground. We have booked at the Ibis and are now looking forward to quick trip to Sydney in February.
