After dreaming of a trip to Europe for years, I have finally decided to go for it. I am anxious for the dates for the Breakaway tours to come out so that I can really begin planning. I will be traveling solo and will probably go late next year. Oh how I would have loved to go on the European Focus leaving Dec 26th this year. But as it is, I did not have the money saved up nor do I have the vacation time saved up to take.

Question for those who have gone before me, when can I hope to see the dates/brochure for next year? Also, I know that time of year (Dec/Jan) will be a bit on the cold side, which I am perfectly okay with. How cold is it really and is there a lot of snow/rain there? Just curious as to what I can expect that time of year.

Hello shewanders and welcome to the bulletin board. I have been told that the new brochures will be released around the 20th October here in Australia, I'm not sure when they will be released in America.

I have noticed that in this years Breakaway brochure there are not many guaranteed European Focus tours, so if you decide to go ahead and book a Breakaway tour for that time of the year (providing they are offered at that time of the year) please make sure you have a back-up plan.

I would suggest also looking at the Trafalgar Costsaver brochure as the hotels and included's are about the same.

I have not been to Europe at that time of the year but I expect you will experience cold, rain and snow, you will of course have a lot less daylight hours, so you should take that into consideration.

Is there any reason why they release the brochures at different times in different countries? I don't really understand what reason there would be for that.

I have looked through some of the other tours offered. The breakaways really appeal to me because of the age group. I will be traveling solo and would really like to be with other people my age. I would possibly consider one of the other tours as a back up. Of course I know that they may not have the dates available that I would like but I am really hoping they have one with similar timing to what they have this year. If they do that would mean I could really celebrate my 30th birthday in Europe. I think that would be a great treat to myself. The cold doesn't bother me so that is not an issue but I was just wondering if anyone had first hand experience there during that time.
