Vincenzo is obviously a popular guy - wonder if it was the same one I had dinner with last year when I was in Italy (purely platonic - there was a few of us!!)

Would love an update on how Matrx tho!

I was wondering about Matrix too! Rita, what does Vincenzo look like?

Sorry Dogma, my Italian driver was Marcello, not Vincenzo, wrong guy.

Dark hair, smokers, stylish, jumpers round shoulders, etc

Perhaps I'm too cynical - who knows?

Italy4me,

No you are not too cynical - you are right!!! Big Grin

I think that altho' they learn English from an early age they appear to be a bit hesitant when using it with english speaking people. However, they are not supposed to mix with passengers as they are working and some may see it as favouritism! Have noticed tho' that like anyone else, if you make the effort - they do to!

I have been an 'older' woman with a 'younger man' ever since DH and I married in the 70s ... he was 19 and I was 24 Big Grin OK so it isn't the sort of age gap Rita is referring to but some considered even the gap we have a bit surprising at that age ... of course now that we are in our 50s it is a non-event! Smiler

Just_Me,

That is a tiny age gap but I know in the past any female older than the male was somewhat frowned upon.

My second marriage was to a man many years younger than I (don't ask) and the marriage lasted for 8yrs and I chose to divorce in 1991 as I preferred to be single again. My decision had nothing to do with the age gap but I seem to have a problem with being in marriage in general having tried twice. I may be one of the 'strange' humans that function better as a 'single' but I do have no objection to a partnership that is approached with a sharing but independent agreement from both people.

Rita

Good on you for having the courage to do what was right for you ... a good marriage can be a wonderful thing but I certainly don't see value in people who stay together 'just because'. I have been extremely lucky in my partnership with my husband ... especially given his age when we married plus the fact that we had only known each other 6 months when we married ... looking back from a position of 32 years of happy marriage I am stunned at how confident we were!

Italy4me,

Don't spoil your coach tour by concentrating too much on the driver, just let me know if he has a sweater draped around his shoulders. Big Grin
