Folks, this is not all that important to get so bent out of shape about. If you can help, fine; if not, we can live with it.

So perhaps just leave it at that. Frowner

Carolina,

Do you remember the name of your TD, if so why not send an email to Trafalgar and ask for his contact details, if they don't want to give them out then ask them to contact him on your behalf, give him the name and date of the tour and he should be able to look up his records and see what restaurant you were at.

The tour bus dropped us off a short distance from the restaurant and we had to walk a block or two down side streets to the place. We took the same route back to the bus wihout entering any piazzas. We did take a matchbook from the restaurant, but misplaced it later in the tour. Didn't realize we lost the name until we were home again. We would like to have the name so that we could complete our journals (your's was magnificent!)

Hi Carolina,
It's not strange at all .. it was pouring and you just can't remember the name of the restaurant! That's okay! I understand! What a drag! I hope the meal and the company was good Big Grin to compensate for the weather!
As others have suggested - contacting your TD via email (if you have it) would be your best bet. If not .. then another travel mate via email possibly?!?!
The only dinner that was pre-booked and included in our itinerary in Rome was at Canova. MANY tour groups go there. Did you have tambourines distributed during dinner?!??! If not .. then this is not the restaurant.
Thank you for the compliment on my tour tales ... really happy that you enjoyed them! Smiler Sorry I can't be of more help but this is kinda of a toughie girl! Wink

Sorry Steve but she has posted in May, July, August and October last year.

It was her sister, Two Sisters Two, who had post no.1 Big Grin

Hi Carolina,

Did you take any photos of the inside of the restaurant, if so maybe you could include it in your reply and this might trigger someones memory.

One suggestion is it could be La Baia if you click on the link below it will show you some photos of the interior

Steve:

Beware when you criticize the spelling of someone else's name! YOU might offend someone with your attitude. Ditto with your problem of getting the facts straight about the number of MY posts.

Two Sisters Two is my sister and is INDEED RIGHT! IF she cares to explain, I'm sure she will post.

Have a good day!

Carolina,

I have read this post several times & every time I read it I come up with the same conclusion: Lighthearted attempt at humour. Smiler I simply don't know why you find it offensive. Confused

Carolina:

This site is the most useful and welcoming of all sites, as you must know, and people are genuinely trying to help in your inquiry. But really, it would be a good thing if you'd cool it with Steve--not that Steve needs any help from me, but I believe he's away at the moment and I hate to see his name bandied about like this when he's not here to respond.

Steve is one of the best-beloved, good-humoured participants and hardest working volunteers on this site spending countless hours of his own time organizing the "who goes where and when forum," answering questions patiently in almost all cases if he is able to. If he misunderstood something about your and your sister's posts, it's not worth picking a fight over it, as you seem to want to. I know without a doubt Steve would be the first to say, "I misunderstood, sorry, let's put it behind us." Will you not do the same?

Best, Brenda

Bren,

You make a good point & one worthwhile remembering. We are all volunteers some contribute more than others & I am sure no-one would contest the amount Steve contributes of his own free time. None of us, Steve especially, need to be heckled simply because we have gone off topic (again & again ad nauseum) or made an attempt at humour. Smiler

Carolina,

Steve is away at the moment. I personally know Steve and he is the kindest, gentlest person you could ever wish to meet, and he would never deliberately say anything to hurt anyone on this board.

Yes I must agree with you about your comments about Steve Brenda, Dimpz and Missie. Although I've been reqistered since 2004 I've only recently visited the board on a regular basis. I have found Steve to be very helpful and enjoy his sense of humour which seems to match mine most of the time.

Am I missing something?
I thought Carolina's first post (which included 3 please's) was nothing more than an anxious plea for answers to her sister's original 'somewhat vague' post.
Was it deserving of...
<and we will not be bullied!>

<and not beholden to you. Tread carefully,>

<and asking for trouble.>

possibly, if there is a hierachy that newbies need to be aware of and take heed of.
Now I'll go and stand in the corner Wink
